Langfos (P) 80–100g/kg was extensively mined in South Africa from 1923 to 1994, leaving a legacy of long-term soil health that many farmers still benefit from today. In 2010, a new chapter began with the establishment of Gecko Fert (Pty) Ltd at Langebaanweg, reviving this natural phosphate source with renewed purpose. Today, Gecko Fert operates a fully functional mine while actively investing in the responsible rehabilitation of the Langebaanroad site, ensuring sustainable practices that benefit both agriculture and the environment.
