LANGFOS A LEGEND RETURNS TO THE FIELD
Reviving South Africa’s Only Organic Sedimentary Phosphate
First mined in 1923 near Langebaan, Langfos built a reputation for delivering long-lasting benefits to South African farmlands. After operations ceased in 1994, many farmers continued to see positive effects in their soil decades later. In 2010, Gecko Fert reignited this legacy by reopening the mine and reintroducing Langfos as a cost-effective, organic phosphorus fertilizer.
Langfos stands apart as it’s naturally slow-releasing, improves overall soil health, and remains stable in the ground — making phosphorus available when crops need it most. Its effectiveness is especially noted in acidic soils or regions with high aluminum or manganese levels, where conventional fertilizers often underperform.

Eco Pellets is a high-quality, all-purpose organic fertilizer made from nutrient-rich poultry manure. Registered under Act 36 of 1947 as a Group 2 Organic Fertilizer (Reg. No. B5147), it offers a natural solution to improving soil structure, boosting microbial activity, and supporting healthy crop growth.
The manure is sourced exclusively from fully enclosed poultry houses, where it is collected using conveyor belts to eliminate contamination. It is then dried using natural desert air, passed through a specialized drier, and finally pelletized — ensuring a clean, consistent product that’s easy to apply.
Our laying hens are raised from day-old chicks imported from the Netherlands, Belgium, or Germany — countries with strict veterinary standards. These chicks are certified MG/MS-free, meaning no antibiotics are used — a rare distinction in Southern Africa.
